Verified official information
For a child's passport, the US Department of State applies the same rules as for an adult: a 2 × 2 in photo with a white or off-white background, eyes open, full face, looking at the camera and a neutral expression.
We correct the framing and prepare the white or off-white background while preserving your natural appearance.
We deliver the 600 × 600 px digital photo plus a template to print the 2 × 2 in copies that go with Form DS-11.
Stand the child in front of a light wall, with even light, and take the photo at eye level from about 1.5 m. Ask them to look at the camera with their mouth closed.
You don't need to memorize measurements or biometric rules. Imagokit applies this document's official setup and checks the result before delivery.
Take the photo at their eye level, from about 1.5 metres away. It's best if an adult takes it: selfies are not accepted.
Ask them to look at the phone with their head and shoulders straight and their mouth closed. They must be alone, with no toys or other people.
Have them face a window in daylight, with no shadows on the face. We take care of the background.
Don't worry about the background or framing — our AI fixes that. Focus on this.
If you need to complete more than one application, prepare each photo to the exact size and rules of its document.
