What to know about United Arab Emirates visa photo
For UAE residence and entry visas, the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) requires a colour personal photo on a white background that meets its general photo standard: ICAO compliant, clear features and a neutral expression. As ICP does not publish a visa-specific size, we prepare it at 35 × 45 mm, the size it sets for passports.
From everyday portrait to compliant result: United Arab Emirates visa photo
We correct the framing and prepare the white background while preserving your natural appearance.
How it is actually submitted
The photo is uploaded on the ICP portal or app or, in Dubai, the GDRFA; your sponsor or a typing centre can also upload it. The system checks the image on upload and, if it is not accepted, you can upload it again. We deliver a high-quality file in 35 × 45 mm proportion plus a print version; if the form for your category states a specific size or file limit, follow it.
How to prepare
Take a new photo with a white background, even light and eyes on the camera, keeping your head straight. Avoid heavy frames that cover the eyes and any glare on the lenses, and do not apply filters. For a child, make sure they are alone with no toys near the face.
Common rejection reasons
- Using third-party sizes, such as 43 × 55 mm, that ICP does not publish
- Non-white background
- Sunglasses, tinted lenses or glare
- Hat, cap or headwear covering part of the face
- Shadows on the face or a photo older than six months
We check the requirements for you
You don't need to memorize measurements or biometric rules. Imagokit applies this document's official setup and checks the result before delivery.
