The DGT requires an original, current 26 × 32 mm colour photograph for the driving licence, with a plain background, taken from the front, head uncovered and without dark glasses. It does not publish further biometric measurements for photos supplied by the applicant.

How it is actually submitted
The printed photo is handed in at the Traffic Office or, from abroad, at the consulate, where the talón-foto is completed. If you renew at a driver medical centre, the photo is taken there and you do not need to bring one; nor do you if the DGT already holds one from a previous procedure.
How to prepare
Stand in front of a plain light wall with even light and look at the camera. If you wear a veil for religious reasons, keep the whole facial oval visible, from hairline to chin. Print on photo paper and cut to 26 × 32 mm.
