Verified official information
The Polish dowód osobisty uses a 35 × 45 mm colour photo taken within the last six months, on a uniform white background with the face filling 70–80%. For online applications the file must be at least 492 × 633 px and no larger than 2.5 MB.
We correct the framing and prepare the white background while preserving your natural appearance.

Online, through gov.pl or mObywatel, you attach the digital file; at the municipal office you hand in the printed copy. If you wear religious headwear, add your community certificate: online it can be electronically signed or scanned, with the original handed over when you collect the card.
Face the camera with a natural expression, closed mouth, uncovered eyebrows and eyes fully open. Use even light without reflections on skin or hair and avoid jewellery covering the facial oval. Ears do not need to be visible.
You don't need to memorize measurements or biometric rules. Imagokit applies this document's official setup and checks the result before delivery.

Take the photo from at least 40 cm (16 in) away from your face. Ideally, have someone else take it for you.

Position your face in front of the lens and keep a neutral expression. Hold the camera at face level.

Face a light source, such as an open window. Don't worry about the background — we'll replace it.
