Algeria’s Ministry of the Interior requires 35 × 45 mm colour photos for the biometric passport, with a uniform white background, a 32 to 36 mm face, a neutral expression and no headwear. The file is shared: the same photos also serve for the carte nationale d'identité biométrique électronique (CNIBE).

How it is actually submitted
On the passeport.interieur.gov.dz portal you can load the photo and your details before choosing the biometric enrolment appointment, where fingerprints are taken. A first-application file includes four identical photos. If you already hold a biometric passport, the CNIBE can be requested online with your NIN and passport number, without a new photo. How to prepare
Use a white wall and even light to avoid shadows and blown-out areas. Face the camera with your mouth closed and remove any headwear. If you wear glasses, choose untinted lenses and frames that do not cover the eyes. Print every copy from the same photo.
